Are you trapped?
It's because of the mental traps.
Wait, what?
What are mental traps, and what is because of them?
I am sorry about starting in the middle.
Are you wondering why people depend on luck instead of making their own?
And the answer to that question is,
It's because of the mental traps.
In the previous blog, we discussed how anyone could design their luck. And all they need is to make the right choices.
The key phrase is "right choices."
That's where people go wrong in their choice-making.
They don't use the opportunities they get because they are worried about leveraging them.
And the reason behind them is the mental traps.
Before we get to the traps, we need to understand one thing.
We become what we believe that we can.
If we believe that we can become healthy, we become healthy. And if we think that we cannot become healthy, then we don't become healthy.
Because our thoughts define our choices, decisions, and actions, and our choices and decisions define our luck and the results we get.
This means our thoughts define the results we get, and the results determine what we become.
But the problem is that what we believe or think depends on the mental traps or the mental limitations we have.
Let's talk about them.
#1: I thought it would be easy, and I thought it would be simple.
This is one of the reasons people struggle to grow and succeed in their fitness journey because they think or assume "doing something critical" was easy.
When it is not, they struggle.
This requires a simple mental adjustment.
All they need to do is begin the journey without any expectations and give what it takes.
#2: I am not as good as
People often compare themselves with others who are fit and think they are not as good as them.
They start thinking and believing they cannot become fit because they are not as good as those healthy people.
This stops them from achieving fitness success.
No one needs to be as good as anyone to succeed in the fitness journey. Whatever you are is good enough.
#3: I don't want to make mistakes
Many people don't want to make mistakes and don't take action to avoid them.
Without actions, there are no results.
That's the issue.
The solution is simple.
There are no mistakes. There are results, and there are lessons.
Either get what you want or learn how to get what you want.
All you need to do is stop seeing them as mistakes and start seeing them as lessons.
#4: I need to be perfect
This is one of the biggest mental traps.
Many people want to be perfect in what they do, and they procrastinate.
No one needs to be perfect to grow or become successful.
If we look at all the healthy people in the world, they are all fit because they didn't wait to be perfect and took action with what they had and knew.
That's what we need to do.
The actions move the needle and get us close to the results.
#5: I will wait for the right time
And finally, the biggest reason people fail is waiting for the right time.
Like perfection, there is no such thing as the right time.
Now is the right time to do anything.
Now is the right time to begin.
Now is the right time to take action.
Now is the time to succeed.
That's all you need.
Remember, you become what you believe you can be.
Are you struggling to overcome any of these mental traps and limitations? If yes, what is stopping you?
